Journal Post 29/01/2013

Today was our last lesson to finish up before the deadline is met to view the sequence. I have been finishing up the title sequence, changing the brightness and contrast of the film, either brighting up a clip if it's too dark, and using a stronger contrast to give it a darker, grimier effect to the clips.

Unfortunately, I did the same thing earlier on in the week. reasons was that I accidentally saved the title sequence in my user area. the servers have not been working properly so it didn't save the work that I did. Hence why I had to edit it over again.

I have also spoke to both Kieran and Aaron about what happened, and have warned them not to make the same mistake as me. I am going to give them my user login in case I am busy and they can help finish off the title sequence.

All that is left now is to create the end clip of the title sequence on Adobe After Effects which is the title that pops up, and to align the soundtrack to the right area.

Tomorrow I plan to start and finish the clip on After Effects and add it to the title sequence. I will then align everything into place and check for anything that is missed out or not right in the title sequence.
I will then show Aaron and Kieran the title sequence to discuss and ask for their opinions on it.

Added in credits

I have just finished adding credits to the title sequence, I have used the font that we originally decide to use as a group:

We have made quite good progress on title sequence, I need to add the ending which shows our title Hunted.

I need to create this on after effects, which will be very simple to make. We are hoping that it will work out how we had planned.
It's been quite a problem though, because the IMac servers are having errors, which I have had trouble trying to save the title. Luckily I found out today where to save it so its worked out right now.

Missed lessons

Unfortunately over the past week to two weeks, I have been quite ill, only able to attend school when I have been trying to get work done that needs to get finished. Because of this occurrence, it has pushed me behind. I am now trying to catch up on my recent work and blogging as much as I can to keep up to date with everyone else in the class.

Soundtrack for the film

Today, me, Kieran and Aaron have been looking over our sequence. So far music wise we have sound effects and dialogue, which we have produced ourselves. Without a soundtrack, the sequence looks and sound dull. so we decided to look through youtube, and try and find a soundtrack that would fit to our sequence.
after finding a few suggestions, we found and agreed to used a soundtrack from the film ‘Blood Diamond’. We have looked through the source and have found that we are able to use this as there are no copyrights involved.
The reason for us wanting to use this sound is that it goes almost perfectly with our sequence. If however this does not seem to work with the overall feel of the film we will now have to go back to the drawing board and come up with a different idea.

continuing on title sequence

we are currently still working on the title sequence. Ms Wittacker feels that our title sequence is too short. she come up with some ideas to extend the title sequence with a few more clips that could relate to it, or possibly film the first part of our film. Both ideas are easy and efficient to do, however the only problem is time. Kieran, Aaron and I would have to put in a lot more time and effort into this as we only have a few weeks left to complete this

Journal Post

Today myself, Kieran and Aaron discussed any problems which we think our group have at this point.
overall, the sequence and so far is doing well for time but we need to put audio sounds in the background and put fonts over the screen throughout. Aaron told me about the fonts in which we have all decided to use and agreed to use the throughout the title sequence.
Our group are still loosing out however on something which needs doing which is our ‘audience profile’. Aaron and Kieran did this before but Kieran has managed to misplace the document soon after we edited it. He is now having to go back and redo the piece so we can all post it onto our blogs.

Audience Profile

The audience profile is to figure out the target audience beforehand so that you have targeted it at the right genre of people for your film. It includes age and gender.

the primary audience Because the film has violence, gang related crime, and revenge, we would target audiences to those of men.
I would say that because of violence and possible gore, I would have the age rate round 18+, but isn't too violent and you wont see a lot of gore, so the age range will be from 15-35.

the secondary audience would be women, possibly teenaged girls, because there is scenes of love and passion, with the main character and a girl he meets.
